2023 Candidate Statements to NEA-New Mexico Elective Offices

Northwest Region Member of the NEA-New Mexico Board of Directors- serving a three-year term beginning July 15, 2023. (all active nonsupervisory members of a local in the Northwest Region are eligible)

  1. Mich Sandoval, Central Consolidated: I am a Dinė, woman, two-spirit, kindergarten teacher in Upper Fruitland, NM. I am running for the NW Region NEA-NM Board of Directors candidate position.
  2. Mike Moss, Central Consolidated: It is time to fight for ALL the members in this state. Not any one area or region. I am ready to return to the NEA-NM Board and take that fight on. This is not about me, it is about we. I appreciate your vote and I'm honored to serve you.

Southwest Region Member of the NEA-NM Board of Directors- Election district representing Las Cruce-CSEC, and NEA-Las Cruces, filling an unexpired term upon election through July 14, 2025. Candidate Statements

RA Delegate nominees may submit a statement of up to 25 words to be published with RA Delegate ballots and on the NEA-NM website. 

Other candidates nominated for NEA-NM office may have a statement on the website of 50 words or less, beginning December 16, 2022. Statements are due by October 28, 2022.

The deadline for NEA-NM receipt of all candidate statements is October 28, 2022.

Declared Elected Candidates

In accordance with Standing Rule 9, since only one candidate was nominated for these positions, these candidates were declared elected on October 15, 2022. The standing rule states, “If the number of candidates nominated, including write-in candidates who have declared their write-in candidate in accordance with timelines and procedures established by the NEA-New Mexico Elections Committee equals the number of positions to be filled, the Board of Directors shall declare such candidates elected.”
